Marble

Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to high pressure and temperature conditions. It is primarily composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. The process of metamorphism causes the original carbonate mineral grains to grow larger and interlock, giving marble its characteristic smooth texture and often vibrant patterns.
